Thangs of Fairway II

Sunrise Optimist Club gears up for the season with its Thangs of Fairway II haunted house in the old Cox’s Furniture building on Fairway.
Actually, Thangs of Fairway doesn’t only include a haunted house, but a pumpkin patch and haunted hayride, too.

The Haunted Hayride is every Friday and Saturday night during the Halloween season. The ride will take visitors around an old grave yard, where specters roam around the gravestones, along with a mysterious family that wanders around the area.

And young children might want to check out the pumpkin patch. From 2-5 p.m. Oct. 16, the pumpkin patch will be the place to be for face painting, photographs with friendly Halloween characters, and a hayride, cotton candy and popcorn.

Proceeds from this spook house, as always, benefit high school youth booster clubs and Sunrise Optimist Youth activities.

When: Oct. 22-23 and Oct. 28-31. Hours are 7:30 p.m. to midnight on Fridays and Saturdays and 7:30 p.m. to 10 p.m. on weekdays and Sunday.

Where: 3920 Fairway Blvd. (the old Cox’s Furniture building)
Cost: $5 per attraction per person

Then on Oct. 31, from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m., a fall festival atmosphere for younger children will prevail with trick-or-treating, hayrides and a costume party before the haunts begin at 7 p.m.
